Library Resources
TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program that provides anytime, anywhere access to high-quality, authoritative digital resources to all educators, students, and students' immediate families in Texas K-12 schools.
TechnologyStudents are expected to bring their Chromebooks or iPads to school daily, ensuring they are fully charged. Please maintain Chromebooks in their designated cases and affix some form of identification, as the cases are identical. Include your name and grade on a card placed inside the clear sleeve of the case. Avoid applying stickers or other decorations to both the Chromebook and its case.
It is strongly recommended that all students purchase the device insurance provided below. This insurance covers damage, loss, and the charging cord, with unlimited claims permitted throughout the year. MISD technology will initiate the claim process once damage is assessed and deemed ready for repair.

Texas Bluebonnet Award Nominees
The Texas Bluebonnet Award is one of the most prestigious children’s choice literary awards in the United States. Each year, 20 books are chosen for the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List. Schools and libraries around the state participate in the program, encouraging students to read a minimum of five books from the list. In January, students vote for their favorite title. The author of the book receiving the most votes wins the Texas Bluebonnet Award which is presented at the Texas Bluebonnet Award presentation held during the TLA Annual Conference in the spring.
At Yarbrough, students in grades 3rd to 6th are challenged to read at least five of the 20 books on the current list. If students complete this challenge they are invited to the Bluebonnet Voting Celebration in January or February of that year. This program is completely optional and Bluebonnet Award Nominees will not be read to the students in the library.
Texas 2x2 Reading List
The 2×2 list can be used by parents and caregivers to introduce children to a variety of quality books that will pique their interest and imagination, as well as encourage independent reading. A committee comprised of eight members of the Children’s Round Table who are actively involved in delivering library services to children develop the annual list.
